This is a multifaceted pull request that addresses the following issues:

  • Unit tests not being ran using the same approach across VS Code and Drone CI.
  • Unit tests in main file not running other, dependent unit tests.
  • Compilation errors in code that is currently ran in tests only (i.e. null_writer).
